LinkedIn is an amazing social media tool for business and social networking, but did you know that you can actually generate leads from a feature in your LinkedIn profile that will set you apart from your competitors. Curious yet?
Jeannette Paladino, owner of this site, wrote an article not too long ago about how to insert the name of your website into your LinkedIn profile (replacing the default Company Website).
As she pointed out, in the “Websites” section you can insert three URLs. Most people put their company website and that’s it. Ummm…excuse me, but there are two other hyperlinks that you can use for some serious lead generation. You’re not limited to listing only your website. You can link to other sites.
These are live hyperlinks, so you can add an application or a service – and not just your website. For example, someone could click on your link and connect directly to a real human being.
Chat With a Real Person
Let me describe one service that let’s you do this: LiveChatAgent. One of the benefits of this service is that a chat window pops up with a URL…and that URL can be placed into your LinkedIn profile. Do you see where I am going with this?

2. The geo-tagged information can be of use later on. (IP Address, date/time stamp, chat transcript, etc.).
3. Your business is available 24/7.
When someone clicks on my chat URL, my lead generation machine goes to work. So, as you can see, there is a lot more you can do with your social media accounts to create real ROI from a free profile. As a social media consultant, I’m always looking for an edge that will help separate my clients from their competition. This is just one powerful example.
